My new mobile system; looking for speaker suggestions

hotspur in Jul 09 · Reply

I'm putting together a Silverjuke system, with mobility in mind. I'm planning on moving the system around in my house on a regular basis, as well as taking it with me on trips from time to time.

I just purchased one of these to use as the base unit.

I haven't had much of a chance to play with it, but so far it looks like a winner. The system is light and very compact, making it extremely portable. The touchscreen is bright and responsive. Blue Eagle Touch looks great on the screen; it's practically begging people to browse and play music. I normally attach to a network drive to access my library, but the 160GB hard drive, while hardly huge, should hold as much of my music library as I need when traveling.

Now I'm looking for an equally mobile speaker solution to pair with the Eee Top. I need something that is easy to transport and set up; sound quality should be good but doesn't have to be top of the line, since I'm mostly playing 192VBR mp3s.

I'm be interested in wireless transmission between the PC and the speaker system. A short range wireless solution would be ok, but only if its reliable and passes the 'easy set up' guideline.

So let's hear those suggestions. Pick me a winner, Silverjukers!

Congratulations, looks great! For portable music I use a pair of Roland Speakers with build-in amplifier: http://www.roland.com/products/en/CM-30/ Sounds great (and loud!)

Regards,
B.
